Pakistan: 'Dead' Shia leaders entry banned in City

In an interesting development, the Punjab government on Tuesday banned the activities and speeches of no less than 50 religious leaders of different schools of thought in the province during Muharram including two Shia elders who had died years ago.

LAHORE, Pakistan (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In an interesting development, the Punjab government on Tuesday banned the activities and speeches of no less than 50 religious leaders of different schools of thought in the province during Muharram including two Shia elders who had died years ago.

According to the list of the Punjab government, Allama Aashiq Hussain Qayamat and Allama Sajid Uddin Haideri who had died some 3 and 15 years ago respectively have also been banned in Lahore besides others.

The prominent Shia elders who have been banned from entry in different cities and addressing Majalis due to security concerns included Allama Gulfam Hussain Hashmi, Allama Nasir Abbas, Shaukat Raza Shaukat and Allama Ghazanfar Abbas Tounswi.
